Martin Hofkamp
Founder & Head of Curriculum Development
Martin teaches, develops curriculum, and coaches with St. Louis City SC and Atlas Elementary. Previously, he worked in over a dozen schools on 3 continents coaching teachers and teaching science, math, and history. Martin has led youth mentoring and wellness programs, coached basketball and track, and supported small business initiatives in Southeast Asia. Martin studied Peace Studies and Spanish at Goshen College and earned a M.Ed from Johns Hopkins University. Martin enjoys bike commuting, life-coaching, and creating content for his YouTube Channel.
Mike Genau
Grant Writer
Mike is an accomplished grant proposal writer with several competitive national, state, and local grants under his belt. He has experience in education as a Montessori teacher, coaching as a sailing instructor, and mindfulness as a practitioner of over two decades who has attended retreats locally and abroad, most notably in China under the guidance of Master Xu Gu and the Ozarks under the late Venerable Bhante Vimalaramsi.
Audrey Thill
Editor
Audrey brings her research skills and attention to detail to the Aware Teacher project. She has supported the research agendas of university professors, grassroots and international nonprofits, and international policy experts. She holds a Master of Global Affairs and International Peace Studies from the University of Notre Dame. Audrey is most centered when she’s gardening or trail running.
